Tamworth 2–1 Alvechurch | Birmingham Senior Cup | 3 Feb 2026 Match Report & Photos. UK Football Match Reports & Editorial Photos — DataCo/Agency Captions & Clean Metadata

On a cold, wet Tuesday night at The Lamb Ground, Andy Peaks’ Tamworth looked to keep their Birmingham Senior Cup defence alive as they welcomed former Lamb Kyle Storer and his Alvechurch side in the third round.

Tamworth reached this stage with a 3–0 home win over Darlaston, while Alvechurch — two divisions below and struggling near the foot of the Southern League Premier Central — progressed with a 5–3 away win at Boldmere St. Michaels. Peaks made several changes from the weekend, including a start for new loan signing Michael Reindorf.

Alvechurch kicked off with Tamworth attacking the Meadow Street end. An early Curley throw was flicked on by Creaney and brought down by Reindorf, but the debutant slipped as he shaped to shoot. Within four minutes Curley was forced off injured, with Fairlamb introduced after a brief delay.

As rain turned to snow, Alvechurch threatened first when Ilesanmi drove into the box and forced Singh into a low near-post save. Tamworth responded through Roberts, who fired just wide from the right, and then began to apply pressure, winning a series of corners and seeing a Roberts effort headed off the line. Reindorf’s intelligent pass released Acquaye on 27, but he was quickly closed down, and Kilroy later denied Reindorf’s near-post attempt on 39.

The visitors struck on the stroke of half-time. Ngandu’s powerful shot was only parried by Singh and Ilesanmi reacted quickest to fire in the rebound.

HT: 0–1

Tamworth started the second half on the front foot but could not find an early opening, while Alvechurch forced a couple of corners. Chances came at both ends as Roberts and Reindorf combined to test Kilroy, and Cockerill-Mollett’s header later drew a sharp reaction save from the Alvechurch goalkeeper.

Tamworth levelled on 76 minutes with a moment of quality, Kurtaran collecting in space and curling an unstoppable right-footed strike from 25 yards into the bottom-left corner.

Goal: 1–1 (76) Kurtaran

Alvechurch went close again when Timson’s corner effort was cleared off the line by Creaney, before Tamworth completed the turnaround late on. A swift move ended with Forbes squaring across the box for Maher, who finished from 12 yards to make it 2–1 on 89 minutes.

Goal: 2–1 (89) Maher

There was still time for late pressure and stoppages, but Tamworth held firm to book their place in the next round.
